A standard approach to filming a scene is to start with a wide shot and then move in to a point of interest. This helps to give the viewer a context to the detail that follows.
However, there is an alternative, and this is to do the exact opposite. Start with a view of the detail and zoom out to the wider scene. This is a more dramatic composition and tnds to capture the viewer's attention from the start. They ar asking themselves "Where is this?" "What is it all about?"
Don't think that any one way is the "right way". There is no such thing.
If there is a fixed rule it is to think as your viewer will think as they watch the recording evolve.
One of the hardest part of video creation is to sit where the viewer sits, and to see it as they will see it.
